THE DEAL: Welcome to Dunedin

Some places represent opportunity.

Others represent home. For WHITEFOX, Dunedin has always been a little bit of both.

Based in the historic Commerce Building on Dowling Street, the launch of WHITEFOX Dunedin marks our fifth office in New Zealand and twenty-first globally.

While every new office represents another step forward for the brand, this one feels different—not simply because of where we’re going, but because of where the story began.

Long before WHITEFOX existed, Dunedin shaped the people now helping lead it. Marty Fox (Founder & CEO), Taylor Fox (Chief Marketing Officer), Rory Stumbles (Chief Financial Officer) and Nick Beard (Sales Director) grew up here, connected through school, university, sport and friendships that have endured for decades.

Few opportunities in business allow you to build something new in the same place your own story began. This is one of them.

Now, Sales Director Nick Beard will lead WHITEFOX Dunedin, bringing an intimate understanding of the city, its people and its property market to the role.

For Nick, taking the helm is more than a professional opportunity. It is a chance to return to a community he knows deeply and help write its next chapter.

There is a quiet confidence to Dunedin. It isn’t a city that asks for attention, but those who know it understand what makes it remarkable:

historic villas overlooking the harbour, Gothic architecture, rugged coastline and homes carrying generations of history.

It is familiar in the way only a hometown can be, yet still capable of surprising you.

“When people think of Dunedin, they wouldn’t necessarily think of all this beautiful coastline and what’s here,” Nick explains.

That gap between perception and reality is part of what makes the opportunity so compelling. The intention isn’t to change Dunedin, but to show people what has been here all along.

Exceptional homes cannot always be defined by price alone. Their value can be found in the architecture, the craftsmanship, the families who have cared for them and the stories they have accumulated over time.

WHITEFOX was built to recognise those qualities and present them with the thought, creativity and attention they deserve.

For Nick, that approach was central to bringing the brand to Dunedin.

“It’s the next level of real estate. The attention to detail - I just can’t imagine anyone asking for more than that.”

This launch is about more than entering another market. It is a chance to give something back to the city that gave this team so much:

lifelong friendships, shared history and a connection that distance has never diminished.

Dunedin gave them their beginnings. Now, they have the opportunity to build something here together.

That is what makes this office different. Not because it is number twenty-one, but because some stories have a way of bringing you back to where they started.

And for WHITEFOX, the next chapter begins here.
